If this sort of thing interests you there is also the Batonga Foundation.
Batonga helps provide secondary school and higher for girls in Africa. They do this by granting scholarships, increasing enrollment, improving teaching standards, providing school supplies (LIKE BOOKS!), supporting mentor programs, exploring alternative education models and advocating for community awareness of the value of education for girls.
If you can't afford to give you can always try to help increase awareness by making friends with them via MySpace so others may see it as well.
