Charitable Donations

Public Library for UO Darfur Heart Tee from Urban Outfitters

Photobucket

Designed exclusively for Urban Outfitters by Public Library, the graphic on this t-shirt is hoped to raise awareness of the crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan. In washed-soft and faded jersey; Cut with a v-neck and finished with a graphic message at the front. $5 from the purchase of every tee goes to savedarfur.org. Exclusive to Urban Outfitters. Made in the USA. Machine wash.
$28

When searching the word "library" on urban outfitters website five items will come up.None of them are to my particular taste but I felt that it was worth the mention.

For those of you out there who have a drawer full of old glasses you may consider donating them to the Give the Gift of Sight Foundation. Your old glasses will go to those who need them in developing countries.

Swing Low Sweet Charity

Long-time fan of the hunger site a few years back I noticed they added other causes to their list.

Hunger
Breast Cancer
Child Health
Rainforest
Animal Rescue

and as I learned today ......

Literacy!

https://shop.theliteracysite.com/store/

CharityUSA.com owns and operates GreaterGood network stores like the literacy site. Every purchase goes back to the cause of your choice. In our particular case here the literacy site funds new books for children in need.

If this sort of thing interests you there is also the Batonga Foundation.

Batonga helps provide secondary school and higher for girls in Africa. They do this by granting scholarships, increasing enrollment, improving teaching standards, providing school supplies (LIKE BOOKS!), supporting mentor programs, exploring alternative education models and advocating for community awareness of the value of education for girls.

If you can't afford to give you can always try to help increase awareness by making friends with them via MySpace so others may see it as well.
