Sartorial Appreciation

Even the Sartorialist has included some bookish type looks.

The caption for this one reads how this look would not be complete or the same without the moleskin

Below are some of the looks that came up when I searched "Librarian"

Fellow Book-Wormin' Bibliophile Blogger

The same day I was working on my post on bookworm fashion I came across the blog of a fellow fashion Bessie at tech same time making a mental note to make a post about her at a later time. The time is now. Meet the clothes horse.

Oddly enough this post mentions her recent Hitchcock fest when I myself recently spent days watching all three seasons of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and insuring I have indeed seen all of his movies.

Wearing Your Books on Your Pants Beats Your Heart on Your Sleeve

Here is my very own pair of Sergio Valente jeans featuring the first portion of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen along with her silhouette.

If you are terribly fond of them contact me to make a pair for you or some other piece of literary clothing.

Recently finished:
Lolita Nabakov

Grossly different from the movie (or at least what I remember). The movie is incredibly tame and fails to show you the full weight of Humbert Humbert and Lolitas situation.

The Bell Jar
Plath

Some of you sadly only know this as the book read by sister Kat in 10 Things I hate about you (if this is the case shame on you go read taming of the shrew!!!).
I was truly blown away by this book. At the start I was unaware that this is only semi autobiographic.
Definitely a new favourite for me.

Bibliophile Tattoos

Yeats Poem ---------->

Laurie Halse Anderson (with tattoo of the first word of Beuwolf)

Robert Frost Poetry Tattoo

Well, if you want a Robert Frost poetry tattoo, now you know where to get one:

Artist: Tattoos by Kane - Immortal Images Tattoos

There really is something very apt about picking this poem. But are there any poets out there using their own skin as a notebook? Would be kind of cool...

BraceYourselves

After reading The Essential Anais Nin - I fell in love. I went to the library and got every book I could. Sadly, for the bibliophile - enough is never enough. So I searched the internet for some other goody and came across a blog featuring a picture of a resin bracelet meant in tribute to Anais Nin. It sold out late 2007 tho. Not one to be discouraged I contacted the maker and lo and behold - there is ONE LEFT that is not listed - and yes - I made it mine!

You too can find a resin bracelet made in homage to a book - this time not Anais Nin but Lolita.

LOLITA Bracelet

LOLITA Bracelet

Description
Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta.

by Vladimir Nabakov

Beautifull bracelet made of high quality clear resin.

Desin for this bracelet was inspired by Vladimir Nabakov book "lolita'.

The bracelet is 2,45 inches (6.2 cm) wide on the inside

My resin bracelets are hand made by myself from the very beginning when the project forms to the very end when I polish each ingredient separately. All this long process makes each of my work very unique and personal. Most of the bracelets have some decorative
elements embedded inside, however some versions come
in one, clear colour.
These bracelets are very unique - they come in either
one exceptional piece, or in the limited series of
few.
Because each bracelet is individually made by hand,
there are no two exactly same pieces! One can be sure
they would have a truly unique piece on their wrist!

I am so VERY VERY tempted to have two now ;)

Book Bags

See the entire collection at http://www.rebound-designs.com/

Be prepared to spend around $135.00

Or if you prefer you can try Maddie Powers line
(warning: there is less range to choose from here but more in stock it seems)
you can try http://maddiepowers.com/collection/bookpurses/dont_push.html

Also to consider is the (seemingly) little known Etsy.com. Just search the words recycled book, or biblio girl and ye shall find what ye seek.

If DIY is more your speed:

http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/cr_clothing/article/0,,DIY_13751_4595263,00.htm

Then of course you have the option to do a little bit of both with a kit

Which will only set you back about $25.00
